With a background in computers, technical and Real Estate sales, Steven recognized domain names were the Real Estate of the new millennium.
As one of the original investors in Clearsail Communications and serving as their VP of Operations, Steven realized the value and potential of generic ".com" domain names for future business marketing application.
Having initially purchased thousands of domain names in 97-98, He began monitoring "generic" traffic to the domains, ie... Internet users typing in the actual domain name vs. using a search engine. Since then, his collection of domains has increased as the traffic to this type of domain has grown with the exponential growth of the Internet.
In 2000, Steven retired to pursue growth in the "Job Board" industry.
HoustonJOBS.com was the first flagship site, followed by SeattleJOBS, PhoenixJOBS.com, AustinJOBS.com, ChicagoJOBS.com, PittsburghJOBS.com and many others. In recent years, he has sold most of the job boards outside of Texas and focused on the Houston and Austin markets.
Today, he and his wife Manon work to develop new domains and manage those developed. HoustonRestaurants.com, CityofHouston.com, HoustonRestaurants.com and other "Houston" based sites that offer advertising opportunities to reach thousands of potential customers each day.
In July of 2011, Carr rolled out AmericanDomainLeasing.com Developed to allow small startup web development access to good generic domains through leasing prior to purchase which saves upfront capital for hiring and development.
